Mitsui E&P Australia (MEPAU) sponsored a $2,000 scholarship at the 2026 Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Western Australia Scholarship Awards, supporting emerging leaders in the energy sector. Presented on 14 May, the awards recognised outstanding Western Australian students studying engineering, geoscience, and related energy disciplines.

This year’s scholarship was presented by MEPAU Opportunity Evaluation Manager Richard Osbon to Temi (Teminitoluwa) Idowu, a University of Western Australia student pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce, specialising in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Finance.

Through annual support of this scholarship, MEPAU reinforces its commitment to nurturing emerging talent and developing future energy professionals who will help shape the sector’s evolution. SPE WA also supports students and professionals through technical development, collaboration, and education that advances energy exploration and production.
