MEPAU was pleased to take part in last month’s National (Schools) Tree Planting Day activities at Geraldton Primary School alongside the Geraldton Men in Sheds and Bunnings teams.

The event came about through a major partnership between Brighter with Natural Gas, an initiative of the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA), and the Australian Men’s Shed Association.

The students received showbags including gardening tools and seedlings which were then planted on site, and a barbecue was held by local gas businesses, represented by MEPAU, an APPEA member and which has a longstanding involvement with Dongara Men’s Shed.

The alliance supports initiatives aimed at uniting regional, rural and remote Men’s Shed communities while promoting mental well-being and environmental sustainability.
