Backroads Gravel 2026 took place on 8 August in Chapman Valley, bringing together cycling and running enthusiasts for an event that celebrates community, connection and the spirit of adventure. Mitsui E&P Australia (MEPAU) was pleased to support the event through a $5,500 sponsorship from the Waitsia Joint Venture, alongside Beach Energy, helping bring this popular event to the Mid West of Western Australia.

Participants had the choice of a range of cycling and running distances, with options to suit a variety of ages and abilities. The event provided an opportunity for participants to challenge themselves while enjoying the region’s unique landscape.

Team MEPAU also returned for another year, with team members taking part in the cycling events and proudly representing MEPAU. Their participation showcased teamwork, enthusiasm and community spirit.
