On Friday, 29 May, Mitsui E&P Australia (MEPAU) and joint venture partner Beach Energy welcomed members of the Dongara Denison community to a showcase of the Waitsia Gas Plant, offering local residents the opportunity to learn more about the facility located approximately 16 kilometres from Dongara.

The event began with an introduction at the Irwin Recreation Centre before attendees travelled to the plant viewing area. MEPAU’s Vice President HSE & Operated Assets, Tim Meehan, provided an overview of the facility, its operations, and its contribution to the region’s energy sector.

From the Waitsia Gas Plant viewing area, guests gained insight into the gas production process and the scale of its operations. Feedback from attendees was positive, with participants highlighting the value of the presentation and the opportunity to engage directly with project personnel.

The event concluded with light refreshments at the Denison Bowling Club, where attendees and members of the project team continued their conversations.
