Early-stage commissioning activities have commenced at the Waitsia Gas Plant while gas plant construction is continuing, with the aim of optimising project delivery in 2024.

The primary goal of commissioning is to ensure the plant will perform and operate as it was designed to do. Every part of the plant is inspected by engineers, field technicians and operations personnel. With hundreds of connections, instruments, valves and other pieces of equipment to inspect, it is a time- and labour-intensive procedure that takes several months.
