MEPAU hosted an information booth at the 2021 Mingenew Mid West Expo, the largest agricultural show in the Midwest.

Hundreds of exhibitors participated in the event, which is well supported by the Mid West community. The expo offers a great opportunity to talk with stakeholders from throughout the Mid West region. It was MEPAU’s fifth year of participating in the expo.

Visitors to the MEPAU booth were mainly interested in the flow on economic benefits to the region of the Large Waitsia Gas project Development. MEPAU exhibited alongside Clough and Outback Carbon, in the Home and Living Pavilion

MEPAU awarded Clough the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Waitsia Stage 2 development earlier this year, which will create significant economic benefits for the local economy

Outback Carbon was acquired by MEPAU in May 2021 and has strong carbon farming development knowledge and skillsets. Outback Carbon was kept busy at the Expo chatting to local land managers and farmers about the opportunity to capitalise on an increased demand for carbon credits. Carbon farming involves increasing carbon storage in the landscape whilst providing multiple co-benefits.

Ken Yamamura, MEPAU Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, said, “Mitsui E&P Australia were delighted to exhibit at the annual Mingenew Expo once again. The Expo is a great opportunity for us to speak with the local community and share information about our work in the region.

“We congratulate the Mingenew Expo on celebrating its 37th year, and we look forward to exhibiting at this outstanding Mid West event for many more years to come.”

The Mingenew Expo distributes any profits to local clubs. In 2019 around $25000 was donated back into the community.
