The Waitsia Joint Venture is proud to announce a major milestone in the development of the Waitsia Gas Project; the achievement of Ready For Start-Up (RFSU) for the Waitsia Gas Plant, located near Dongara in Western Australia. 

This milestone marks a pivotal step forward in one of Australia’s largest onshore gas developments, transitioning to production operations. First gas export is expected over the coming weeks, followed by ramp-up to nameplate capacity over 1-2 months.

The Waitsia Gas Project is a joint venture between Mitsui E&P Australia (MEPAU), as operator, and Beach Energy, and is designed to deliver a reliable supply of domestic gas to Western Australia and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to international markets. The project supports both regional energy security and the global transition to cleaner energy sources.
