Representatives of the diverse Mid West business community will gather next week at the tenth Mid West Economic Summit, hosted by the Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on Thursday, 18 February 2021 in Geraldton. MEPAU is a Platinum Member of MWCCI and an active participant in its events.

The Summit will provide an opportunity for speakers from a wide variety of industries to examine issues and opportunities in the Mid West region.

MEPAU’s Waitsia Project Director, Steve McCracken, will provide an overview of the life-cycle coverage of activities in the Perth Basin. Gas production began in Western Australia in the Dongara area 50 years ago providing a rich history of energy development in the region as well as a bright future. It’s a great story to share.

Attendees will hear speakers from industries including renewable energy, natural resources, manufacturing, infrastructure, education, agriculture, aquaculture, technology and tourism.

There will also be panel discussions and networking opportunities.

Registrations are still open for the Summit as well as for the events planned on Wednesday, which include a tour of the Mid West Ports Authority, and a ‘Taste of the Midwest’ dinner showcasing local produce. A MWCCI Business After Hours event is planned to follow the Summit on Thursday.

Several MEPAU personnel will be attending the program of events and are looking forward to meeting with other Summit participants.
