Kicking off the ‘Pink Up Dongara Denison’ events calendar, Sunday’s sold-out Pink High Tea has raised approximately $11,000 for the McGrath Foundation.

Mitsui E&P Australia and joint venture partner Beach Energy were pleased to fund the event, which was coordinated by the Soroptimists International of the Midwest and hosted by the Denison Bowling Club, ensuring all proceeds raised went directly to the cause.

The series of events held over September and October are raising funds “to ensure no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse” says Dongara-based Soroptimist, Michele White.

“Funds raised will support the amazing work the McGrath Foundation do placing specialist nurses in communities, just like our Breast Care Nurses based in Geraldton,” she said

“Our plan is to turn everything PINK, have fun doing it and raise funds to make life a little easier for individuals and families experiencing breast cancer, the most common cancer affecting women in Australia.”
