Mitsui E&P Australia recently attended the Year 12 Leadership Morning Tea hosted by the Clontarf Foundation at their head office in Perth. The event brought together more than 70 partners as part of the students’ Year 12 camp, themed “Setting the Foundations for the Rest of Your Life.”
Clontarf students, Foundation leaders, and partners marked the beginning of the students’ final year and recognised the strong support network around them as they prepare for life beyond school.
MEPAU had the opportunity to meet with Mid West students from Champion Bay Academy, who spoke about their aspirations beyond Year 12. The students shared their plans with MEPAU’s Communications Coordinator, Tenielle Nair, which ranged from entering the workforce to pursuing further training, with one student expressing his commitment to staying in Geraldton to build his career locally.
The morning started with an Acknowledgement of Country delivered by Wayne Bromfield. Clontarf alumnus Tuanna Teio then shared an inspiring address, reflecting on his journey and the lasting impact of strong mentorship and support. Guests also heard from two Year 12 students during an engaging Q&A session. CEO and Founder Gerard Neesham closed the event by reflecting on the Foundation’s journey and congratulating the young men gathered.
MEPAU acknowledges the vital work of the Clontarf Foundation in supporting young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men to build their futures. MEPAU and our Waitsia joint venture partner, Beach Energy, look forward to continuing their support of students across Australia, including those in the Geraldton and Mid West academies.
