Today we are celebrating 20 years of Mitsui E&P Australia (MEPAU). We have come a long way as a business in twenty years, and we could not have achieved all that we have without our most valuable asset – our people.

Since 2020 we have been working toward the safe delivery of the Waitsia Gas Project Stage 2 and we look forward to the Waitsia Gas Plant becoming operational this year.

In parallel, we have developed a portfolio of carbon solutions interests – our carbon farming business Outback Carbon will have planted more than 10,000 hectares by July this year; and our developments in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) are underway, with a successful CO2 injection assessment in early 2024 for the Cygnus CCS Hub.

We are proud of our history in the Australian energy industry and our place within the Western Australian community; and we are very appreciative of the local communities, businesses, and landowners that we engage with, and we are committed to supporting and providing benefit to these communities.
