Mitsui E&P Australia’s photo ‘Conversations over the fence’ has won the ‘People’ category of the In.Site Photographic Awards.
The competition is to highlight the environment, community and people that surround and make the natural gas industry possible, with photos to showcase the strong and constantly growing relationship between the industry the areas where operations take place.
The photo, taken by MEPAU contractor Travis Hayto, highlights the energy industry’s efforts to consult with communities in the Shire of Irwin.
MEPAU’s General Manager – External, Government & Stakeholder Relations, Lisa Azzarello said Mitsui E&P Australia regularly meets up with local landowners to talk about activities and initiatives in the Mid West region of Western Australia.
“The image ‘Conversations over the fence’ captures a quiet moment with a local farmer, discussing the land and plans for the year ahead,” Ms Azzarello said.
“Mitsui E&P Australia is proud to be a part of the local community, and working collaboratively with our communities is a core part of what we do.”
Mitsui E&P Australia have requested the $1,000 category prize be donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, a charity close to the heart of farmer and landowner Peter Kupsch who is pictured in conversation with Ms Azzarello.
All winners will also receive complimentary passes to this year’s APPEA Conference and Exhibition and a professionally framed print of their winning photograph.
